Two U.S. nationals, Knoot and Prince, were sentenced to 18 months in prison each for running laptop-farm schemes that helped North Korean IT workers fraudulently obtain remote jobs at about 70 U.S. companies, using stolen identities and remote-desktop access. The scheme led to over $1 million in salaries and remediation costs for victim companies. Knoot must pay $15,100 in restitution and forfeit $15,100, while Prince must forfeit $89,000.
