FBI Arrests Rensselaer County Officials for Federal Offenses
Three Rensselaer County officials, including a former communications director and political consultant, were arrested and charged with conspiring to violate the rights of Rensselaer County voters in the 2021 elections by obtaining absentee ballots through fraud and intimidation to cast false and illegal votes. One of the officials is also charged with witness tampering, and another with making false statements. The arrests were confirmed by the FBI.
