Washington State Enacts Comprehensive Health Data Privacy Law.
Washington has become the first state to adopt health data protections post-Roe, with the "My Health, My Data Act" putting limits on search engines and health trackers' ability to collect and sell customers' data. The law also bars the use of "geofences" to send unsolicited messages to people at health facilities. The move comes amid concerns that sensitive data collected and sold by tech companies could be used to aid prosecutions related to abortions after the fall of Roe v. Wade.
