DeSantis and Trump's Dueling Iowa Events Heat Up GOP Politics.
Despite lagging in early national polling and facing attacks from Donald Trump, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis has drawn large crowds at Republican Party events across the country, selling out venues and breaking fundraising records. DeSantis has traveled to eight states for 10 GOP events since March, raising more than $4.3 million for state and local Republican parties. While attendance does not necessarily equal support for his candidacy, DeSantis is expected to file paperwork for a presidential campaign in the next 15 days.
