DC Police Chief Robert Contee III to Retire for FBI Job
DC Police Chief Robert Contee III is retiring after 33 years with the force and two and a half years as the chief of police. He will be moving on to a new opportunity as assistant director of the FBI's office of partner engagement. Contee began his career with the Metropolitan Police Department as a cadet in 1989 and was selected to lead the department by Mayor Muriel Bowser in December 2020. His last day will be June 3.
