Capitol Rioters Sentenced to Prison for Attacking Police and Defying Judges
Ronald Colton McAbee, a former Tennessee sheriff's deputy, was sentenced to nearly six years in prison for assaulting police officers during the Capitol riot on January 6, 2021. He wore a bulletproof vest with law enforcement insignia and a Three Percenters militia patch during the attack. Despite expressing remorse, the judge noted his pride in the violent acts. McAbee's actions caused injuries to an officer and hindered efforts to aid a woman who died during the riot. Two others involved in the assault were also sentenced to prison.
