NYPD Rookie Officer Shot in Queens Altercation, Suspect at Large
A surveillance video shows the moment a gunman opened fire on a rookie NYPD cop in Queens, causing panicked New Yorkers to take cover behind cars. The 22-year-old cop, Brett Boller, with only three months on the job, was wrestling with the unknown gunman before collapsing onto the sidewalk. The gunman then pointed the firearm at the cop before quickly backing away and running off. Boller was shot once in the hip and is recovering in Jamaica Hospital after a successful surgery. Police are still hunting for the gunman who should be considered armed and dangerous. A combined reward of $20,000 is being offered for any information leading police to the suspect.
