Heroes of the Beach: Grandfather and Father Sacrifice Lives to Save Loved Ones from Rip Currents.
Robert "Bob" Sarver, a 76-year-old guidance counselor and football coach, died saving his grandson from a rip current near Daytona Beach shores. In lieu of flowers, his family asks people to donate to the Anderson County Scholarship Fund, which Sarver was previously on the selection board for. The fund has awarded a scholarship to a student graduating from high school each year since 1977. Sarver made a significant impact on many people's lives in the community, and a celebration of his life will be held in Lawrenceburg.
