Arson Suspect Found Dead After String of Fires in Portland
Portland Fire & Rescue officials have identified a man, Fredy Javier Paredes-Kancab, as the suspect behind a series of 14 fires in Portland last week. However, the suspect was found dead outside a home, and it appeared to be a suicide. The fires targeted trash cans, cardboard boxes, and other objects, causing damage to a building where people lived. Paredes-Kancab had been arrested earlier for unrelated charges but was released and did not show up for his court date.
