Stockbridge mayor ousted over credit-card misuse and explicit messages to 18-year-old
Stockbridge, GA’s City Council voted 3-0 to remove 23-year-old Mayor Jayden Williams, the youngest mayor in the city’s history, after investigators found he misused a city-issued credit card and exchanged nude images with an 18-year-old high school student linked to his mentorship program. Williams acknowledged the improper purchases and explicit messages, which occurred before he took office, while no criminal charges have been filed. The council-manager government means the mayor’s role is largely ceremonial, and a special election will be scheduled within six months.
