Shelby Township Clerk Stan Grot, who was one of 16 Republicans charged with felonies for signing a false certificate claiming Donald Trump won Michigan in the 2020 election, has been ordered by Michigan's Secretary of State's office to cease involvement in administering elections. The charges allege that Grot and the other Trump electors committed forgery by creating a false document to give Michigan's electoral votes to Trump, despite Joe Biden winning the state. Grot, who denies any wrongdoing, is barred from administering any elections in Shelby Township while the charges are pending.
