Cole Leinart, son of former USC and NFL quarterback Matt Leinart, has committed to play football at SMU. A 3-star quarterback in the 2026 recruiting class, Cole had offers from several schools including Colorado and UNLV. His father, Matt Leinart, was a celebrated college player but had a less successful NFL career. SMU is currently ranked No. 13 in the College Football Playoff rankings.
