Coastal Storm Causes Flooding and Tornado Watch in Carolina Beach and Surrounding Areas
Several areas in southeastern North Carolina, including Carolina Beach, are experiencing road closures and flooding due to a storm. Canal Drive in Carolina Beach is blocked off in multiple areas, while the bridge to Sunset Beach has been reopened. The Brunswick County Sheriff's Office has shared photos of flooding in the Southport waterfront, and there are reports of flooding in Ocean Isle Beach as well.
