Nolan Wells’ Death Confirmed After Horn Island Discovery
A body found on Horn Island has been identified as 18-year-old Nolan Xavier Wells, who disappeared July 4 while visiting the Mississippi Gulf Coast with friends. Wells’ mother confirmed the death, and authorities say the remains match his description, with DNA testing pending; the cause of death is not yet known. Wells would have turned 19 next month and was a wide receiver for Southwest Mississippi Community College. A large search involving state, federal and local agencies and volunteers followed his disappearance, and the campus community has mourned his loss. A GoFundMe has been started for his family.
