Disney CEO Bob Iger Criticizes Florida Governor's Actions Against Company
Disney CEO Bob Iger accused Florida Governor Ron DeSantis of retaliation against the company for opposing a bill limiting classroom discussion of sexual orientation or gender identity. Iger noted that Disney is not the only business operating within a special district in Florida, but has been the only one under scrutiny. Disney expanded its federal lawsuit against DeSantis, accusing him of voiding the company's development deals in Orlando. Iger said the company's primary goal is to continue investing in Florida, where it plans to spend over $17 billion in the next decade and create around 13,000 jobs.
