Supreme Court Justices' Financial Disclosures Revealed: Gifts, Book Royalties, and Scrutiny.
Justices of the US Supreme Court released their financial disclosure reports for 2022, with the exception of Justices Clarence Thomas and Samuel Alito who asked for extensions. The seven justices who filed their reports disclosed their income, which included permissible outside earnings under the Ethics in Government Act, such as teaching and book royalties. Some justices also reported rental income and spousal income. Chief Justice Roberts clarified that his wife owns an equity stake in the recruiting company where she works. None of the disclosed reports contained information on Justice Thomas's previously undisclosed luxury travel paid for by a Republican megadonor.
