Nebraska Man's Unusual Passenger: A Bull Riding Shotgun
Howdy Doody, a 2,200-pound steer, has become a local celebrity in Neligh, Nebraska, where he rides shotgun in his owner's modified Ford Crown Victoria sedan during parades. However, when the duo took a trial run to Norfolk, authorities considered it a safety hazard and issued a warning to the owner for vision obstruction and unsecured load. The owner, Lee Meyer, had modified his car to accommodate the steer, reinforcing the floor, suspension, and frame, and adding a plexiglass barrier. Despite the incident, Meyer plans to continue driving Howdy Doody around, but probably won't bring him back to Norfolk.
