
Coast Guard hunts three overdue boaters off St. Lawrence Island
The U.S. Coast Guard is searching offshore of St. Lawrence Island, Alaska, for three overdue boaters from a fishing vessel that left Savoonga Friday and was due back around 3 a.m. Sunday. An HC-130 aircrew from Coast Guard Air Station Kodiak arrived on scene Monday, coordinating with Alaska State Troopers and local authorities conducting shore searches; the boaters’ names have not been released and tips can be reported to the Arctic District Command Center at (800) 478-5555.
