Coffee Workers Unite: Strikes Shut Down Louisville Stores
Employees of Sunergos Coffee and Starbucks in Louisville went on strike, leading to the closure of several coffee shops. The workers, represented by the Service Employees International Union, are protesting the companies' refusal to negotiate contracts for wages, benefits, schedules, and other job standards. This strike follows previous unionization efforts at Sunergos, Starbucks, and Heine Brothers stores in the area. The protest received support from Starbucks employees across the country, and a rally and march were planned in downtown Louisville.
