Police Investigate Homicides and Infant Death in Austin and Lubbock
A person of interest has been taken into custody in connection with a homicide investigation after a fight broke out in a tent community in north Austin, resulting in the death of one person. The victim was found with obvious signs of trauma and pronounced dead on the scene. A fire was also involved in the incident, and police are questioning witnesses. This is being investigated as Austin's 33rd homicide of the year, but police believe it is an isolated incident with no threat to the public.
