Trump's defamation lawsuit against CNN dismissed in Florida
A federal judge, appointed by Donald Trump, has dismissed the former president's defamation lawsuit against CNN, in which he claimed that referring to his efforts to overturn the 2020 election as "the Big Lie" was comparable to comparing him to Adolf Hitler. The judge ruled that the references were opinions and not factual statements, and it was unlikely that viewers would connect the phrase to Nazi propaganda or Hitler's regime. Trump had sought punitive damages of $475 million in the lawsuit.
