Prince Harry and Piers Morgan at Center of UK Phone Hacking Scandal
Piers Morgan is facing questions about his involvement in phone hacking as part of a High Court legal battle being waged by Prince Harry and other celebrities against The Daily Mirror. On the first day of the trial, it was alleged that Morgan "must have known" about illegal voicemail interception. The trial has reignited the phone hacking debate in the UK more than a decade after Rupert Murdoch shut down the News of the World amid revelations about unlawful activity. Mirror Group Newspapers has previously admitted that its journalists were involved in phone hacking and has paid out £100M ($126M) in settlements and legal costs to victims.
