Writer and actor Mickey De Hara is suing director Guy Ritchie over his film The Gentleman, claiming that it copied scenes from a script he had submitted to Ritchie. De Hara claims that Ritchie had commissioned him to write a sequel to his 2008 film RockNRolla, but after submitting the script, he was told that the time of the gangster movie was over. Two years later, The Gentleman was released, which De Hara claims was a substantial rework of his script. De Hara is seeking £201,000 and credit for his original work that was used in The Gentleman without his consent and without payment of the agreed remuneration.
