Netflix touts $135B content spend and $325B economic impact over a decade
Netflix says it spent more than $135 billion on licensing and original film/TV over the past decade, claims to have contributed about $325 billion to the global economy and created more than 425,000 jobs, and notes its content-spend ratio has declined as revenue grows. It projects about $20 billion in annual content spend this year with revenue of roughly $50.7–$51.7 billion, and notes more than $46 billion in profit over the decade as it continues heavy investment in production globally.
