Broadway and Film Star Janis Paige Dies at 101
Janis Paige, the celebrated singer, dancer, and actress who starred in the original 1954 Broadway production of "The Pajama Game," has died at the age of 101. Paige first gained attention in the 1944 film "Hollywood Canteen" and later became a Broadway star. Despite her success on stage, she was replaced by Doris Day in the film adaptation of "The Pajama Game." Paige continued to have a successful Broadway career, including taking over the lead role in "Mame" from Angela Lansbury in 1968.
