Mukluk Fire near Tok triggers evacuations as containment efforts intensify
Evacuations remain in place as the Mukluk Fire west of Tok, Alaska grows to more than 1,500 acres with active spread east/northeast; numerous ground and aerial resources are deployed, two shelters opened in Tok, a temporary flight restriction and drone ban are in effect, and suppression work will continue overnight amid hazards from downed powerlines and weakened trees while residents await word on when they can return.
