Federal regulators demand MBTA improve worker safety or face ban from subway lines.
The Federal Transit Administration has demanded that the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority (MBTA) take immediate action to correct safety problems that are still endangering T workers. The order comes after an employee was seriously injured while working on the right of way in a location where access had not been requested or granted. The order demands the T take a series of specific actions by Monday, or else face a ban on track work.
