Despite Ron DeSantis' disastrous campaign launch on social media, Iowa voters at a Tim Scott town hall did not seem to be aware of or concerned about the news. Only two out of nearly a dozen voters interviewed had heard of the event. The incident highlights the risks of relying on social media for campaigning compared to traditional retail campaigning, which DeSantis is perceived to lack. Meanwhile, Scott and former Vice President Mike Pence were pressing the flesh in Iowa, targeting the evangelical vote, and blanketing traditional media.
