Chicago-area cargo theft yields $1.3M in copper wire and data-center gear
Two stolen trailers containing more than $1.3 million in cargo were recovered at a suburban Chicago truck yard. One trailer held about $300,000 worth of copper wire; the other contained roughly $1 million in data-center infrastructure equipment. The shipments were reported stolen in Alabama and Florida, and investigators are seeking the driver and others involved with the thefts; no arrests have been announced and the case remains ongoing.
