Minnesota Senate Passes Bills Protecting Reproductive and Transgender Health Care, and Banning Conversion Therapy.
The Minnesota Senate has approved a bill that bans conversion therapy for minors, as well as bills that provide refuge for transgender individuals and expand abortion access. The conversion therapy ban prohibits licensed therapists from attempting to change a minor's sexual orientation or gender identity. The transgender refuge bill requires public schools and other government buildings to provide safe spaces for transgender individuals to use the restroom and change clothes. The abortion bill expands access to the procedure by allowing advanced practice clinicians to perform abortions.
