Malawi and Mozambique are conducting search and rescue operations as the death toll from Tropical Cyclone Freddy rises above 270. Severe flooding and mudslides have destroyed homes, broken bridges, and disrupted power supplies. Malawi's disaster management department reported 225 deaths, 707 injuries, and 41 missing, while Mozambique reported 21 deaths. Relief efforts are being hampered by heavy rain, and thousands of people are still unreachable.
