Court Blocks Rival from Using 'Twitter' Name as X Wins Dispute Over Remaining Marks
A U.S. court granted X (Elon Musk’s company) a preliminary injunction preventing rival Operation Bluebird from using the Twitter name, citing likely brand confusion and evidence from Apple’s App Store listing that links X to Twitter. The judge, however, declined to protect the Tweet mark or the bird logo, finding that X has abandoned those marks based on past statements and legacy materials. Operation Bluebird has since rebranded, while litigation over the remaining marks continues.
