Medical emergency spurs chain-reaction crash on US 281 in San Antonio, injuring two girls
A medical episode behind the wheel triggered a chain-reaction crash on U.S. Highway 281 near Bitters Road in San Antonio. Surveillance video shows a Toyota Highlander losing control, hitting a TxDOT sign, and crossing into northbound lanes, colliding with a Dodge Ram and then a Chevrolet Suburban, causing two girls (ages 11 and 15) to be ejected from the Ram with serious injuries; the Ram driver sustained non-life-threatening injuries. The Highlander driver is cooperating with investigators, and as of Sunday no charges have been filed; the driver’s condition is unknown.
