Mexico's Pacific coastline is bracing for the impact of two named storms within 48 hours, with one likely to become a strengthening hurricane. Tropical Storm Max is expected to make landfall just east of Zihuatanejo, bringing heavy rains and a serious threat of flash flooding and mudslides. Meanwhile, Tropical Storm Lidia is forecasted to reach hurricane strength as it approaches the coastlines of Jalisco, Nayarit, and Sinaloa states, potentially causing storm surge and triggering flash floods and mudslides. In the U.S. Northern Mariana Islands, Typhoon Bolaven is heading northwest and is expected to intensify into a powerful super typhoon, bringing heavy rains and possible typhoon-strength winds.
