Bhiwandi building collapse death toll reaches 8, owner arrested.
The death toll in the Bhiwandi building collapse has risen to six, with the owner of the unauthorised building, Indrapal Patil, arrested. Rescue operations by the National Disaster Relief Force and the Thane Disaster Relief Force are ongoing, with four JCBs, gas cutters, and sniffer dogs being used to clear the debris. The building was occupied by MRK Pvt Ltd, which stored around 50 to 60 tonnes of edible products. The collapsed building was a "pancake collapse," making it difficult for people inside to escape.
