US Drone Strike Eliminates ISIS Leader in Eastern Syria
The U.S. Central Command conducted an airstrike in eastern Syria, resulting in the death of Usamah al-Muhajir, an ISIS leader. The strike aimed to disrupt and degrade ISIS's ability to plan and carry out terror attacks. There were no indications of civilian casualties, but reports of a civilian injury are being assessed. Despite the encounter with Russian aircraft earlier in the day, CENTCOM's operations against ISIS will continue alongside partner forces in Iraq and Syria.
