Idalia's Devastation: Georgia Man's Tragic Death Highlights Recovery Efforts
A man in Georgia died and another person was seriously injured while trying to clear debris caused by Hurricane Idalia near Valdosta. The storm, now a tropical storm, brought high-speed winds, heavy rain, tornadoes, and flooding to Florida, Georgia, and the Carolinas. Governor Brian Kemp described the impacts in certain counties as devastating, and around 225,000 customers were left without power in Georgia. Efforts are underway to restore power and assess the damage caused by the storm.
