Train Derailment Prompts Evacuations in Montgomery County, PA
A train derailment occurred in Plymouth Meeting, Pennsylvania, causing the evacuation of a dozen homes and nearby businesses as a precaution. The train, owned by CSX, derailed due to weather-related issues, with about 16 of its 40 cars affected. Although one car was carrying hazardous material, there were no leaks or spills reported, and no injuries to the crew. Norfolk Southern, the owner of the track, has been under scrutiny since a previous derailment in Ohio. While there is no immediate danger to residents, Governor Josh Shapiro is monitoring the situation.
