Vikings lose backfield punch as Mason hits IR with thumb injury
The Minnesota Vikings placed running back Jordan Mason on injured reserve with a thumb injury (reported small fracture fixed), meaning he’ll miss at least four games. With a Week 6 bye, Mason could return in Week 7. Mason led the Vikings’ backfield with 15 carries in Week 1, so Aaron Jones will likely see more carries while DeeJay Dallas handles a limited role; Demond Claiborne was inactive in Week 1 and could be active in Week 2, with deeper-league potential if the backfield pieces shift.
