Ohio Women Accused of Using Dead Man for Bank Fraud
Two Ohio women are accused of driving a dead man's body to a bank to withdraw money from his account, reminiscent of the plot of the film Weekend at Bernie's. The women, who lived with the deceased, allegedly placed his body in the front seat of his car and drove to the bank with a drive-through window, where they made a withdrawal. They have been charged with gross abuse of a corpse, and one of the women was held on bond while the other is scheduled for arraignment. An autopsy to determine the cause of the man's death could take up to eight months.
