Texas AG accuses House Speaker of intoxication, calls for resignation.
Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton called for the resignation of Texas House Speaker Dade Phelan, accusing him of presiding over the House "in a state of apparent debilitating intoxication." Phelan's office responded by saying Paxton's statement was a last-ditch effort to save face ahead of a hearing with a House investigative committee looking into his $3.3 million whistleblower settlement.
