Danielle McGahey, the first transgender cricketer to play internationals, has announced that her international career for Canada is over following the ICC's decision to ban transgender players from women's international cricket. The new rules state that any player who has transitioned from male to female and has been through male puberty will not be allowed to participate, regardless of any surgery or gender reassignment treatment. McGahey expressed disappointment in the decision and vowed to continue fighting for equality in the sport. She played six T20Is for Canada, scoring 118 runs.
