Minnesota Teen's Violent Crime Spree Ends in Tragedy.
A 17-year-old teenager was charged with second-degree murder for allegedly shooting and killing a beloved youth hockey coach, Michael Brasel, in St. Paul, Minnesota. The teen was also charged with aggravated robbery in April 2022 for holding a gun to another student's head and demanding his cell phone. Police used cell phone data to link the teen to Brasel's murder and arrested him last Wednesday. Prosecutors are asking the court to certify him as an adult. The community has been deeply shaken by Brasel's death, and former St. Paul police chief Todd Axtell called for consequences and resources for young people involved in felony-level crimes of violence with guns.
