Indie rock band Beirut releases their sixth studio album, Hadsel, inspired by frontman Zach Condon's trip to the Arctic. Condon sequestered himself in a remote Norwegian village named Hadsel, where he found inspiration in the dramatic wintry scenery and an old pump organ. The album combines rolling rhythms with an organ drone, creating a unique musical experience. Condon's meticulous approach to songwriting and recording led him to delay the album's release to avoid getting lost among the influx of "COVID albums." Despite his loathing for touring, Beirut has two shows planned in Berlin, and Condon is working on a project with a Swedish circus company to perform their music without having to tour.
