San Francisco's Preparations for APEC Summit: Cleaning Streets and Enhancing Reputation

San Francisco officials and Caltrans are working to clean up the city's streets ahead of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) summit, which will be attended by world leaders including President Joe Biden. Efforts include removing graffiti near highway overpasses, cleaning up trash near major roadways, adding plants and murals to public spaces, and refreshing various public landscapings. The city is also launching an ad campaign and rolling out the red carpet for the foreign press. These beautification projects aim to improve the city's image and create a welcoming environment for APEC attendees and visitors.
