Refugees from Nagorno-Karabakh seek safety in Armenia

The first group of refugees from Nagorno-Karabakh, following Azerbaijan's recent assault on the separatist region, arrived in Armenia. The group, primarily comprised of women, children, and the elderly, passed through Azerbaijani border guards before entering the Armenian village of Kornidzor. The refugees came from various locations, with some stating they were from the border-area village of Eghtsahogh. The ceasefire in Nagorno-Karabakh, if it holds, could potentially end the conflict between the Christian and Muslim Caucasus rivals. However, there are concerns about a new refugee crisis, and the US and Armenian officials have expressed their concerns for the ethnic Armenians in the region.
