Cornell Concert Commission Scraps Between Friends Show Amid Chi Phi Rape Probe

The student-run Cornell Concert Commission canceled a planned Oct. 17 homecoming show headlined by alt-pop duo Between Friends. The decision follows a temporary permit moratorium in Ithaca and intensifying scrutiny over the university's handling of a 2024 alleged gang rape. While the commission pledged support for the victim, known as Jane Doe, the broader case faces legal challenges regarding New York’s consent laws and questions over the impartiality of the appointed special prosecutor.
