Columbia Alum Donates $260M to Israeli University, Snubbing Alma Mater

An anonymous Columbia University alumnus has donated $260 million to Israel's Bar-Ilan University, marking the largest gift in the institution's history. The donation, aimed at advancing technology and science research, comes amid widespread pro-Palestine protests in the US. The donor, a World War II veteran, emphasized his belief in Israel's technological resilience and his discontent with the current climate at Columbia. This significant contribution highlights ongoing tensions and differing perspectives on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict within academic communities.
