"Climate Change Fuels Hazardous Surf, Prompting Warnings in California"

California's coast is experiencing larger waves, with recent ones reaching up to 60 feet, exciting surfers but also causing concern due to coastal erosion. These waves, intensified by climate change and patterns like El Niño, are contributing to the erosion of beaches and cliffs, potentially threatening infrastructure. Studies indicate that the state could lose a significant portion of its beaches to erosion as sea levels continue to rise, highlighting the ongoing impact of a warming climate on coastal environments.
