"UAW President Calls for Taxpayer Support for Unpaid Corporate Pensions"

United Auto Workers President Shawn Fain called for government intervention to cover pensions if corporations won't, emphasized the need for a just transition to electric vehicles, and downplayed the significance of border security as a major election issue. The union, which has yet to endorse a presidential candidate, is pushing for political leaders to support their cause and hinted at a potential endorsement this week. Fain criticized identity politics and corporate greed, and stressed the union's role in environmental safety despite potential job risks in the shift to EVs.
